I am alarmed at the number of parents who accept irresponsible behavior from their children, and even support it, especially in public forums. However, I am afraid that the children are simply following the examples they have been given.

I have heard many older folks refer to their memories as the most important thing they have in their autumn years. As a historian I take the past very seriously, and continually gaze into my own past to see what kind of treasures of wisdom I may have left at the scene of various events in my life. It’s one thing to live in the past, yet it’s quite another thing to use the past as a road map to life filled with wisdom.

When children misbehave, they must be reprimanded according to the Bible, which is an excellent source of instructions for raising children. More damage can be done to a child who is not properly guided.
