Cattle Flies

My brother in law that lives in Greenville Tennessee has a heard of Black Angus cows and bulls. I just vacationed up to Tennessee recently and while I was there I noticed all the flies landing near the eyes of the animals. David called these pests stable flies and said they were like regular flies but these flies are blood suckers. I was told these flies are usually found the shoulders, lower sides, and legs of the cattle. These flies breed in wet, decaying vegetation like in a hay field where hay was left over from the winter before. These flies after they have gotten their bellies full will rest their small legs on a nearby shed, barn or fence post.

Australian Shepherds

Aussies are very active dogs, and were originally bred for working dogs. They don’t necessarily need a large yard to run in, but it is preferable to have ample space for such an energetic dog. As long as they are given adequate time and attention from their owners, they do fine in just about any setting.
