What to Do About Cats That Bark

Barking Cats may appear cute and cuddly, but according to a Veterinarian, a cat that barks could have a medical condition. Recently on You Tube, a cat was observed barking.  It is filmed in a way that it is entertaining since the cat seems to turn around as if it is caught and starts to meow again.  On closer observation, Dr. Jane Brunt, DVM and owner, The Cat Hospital was called in to give expert witness as to whether she thought the video was tampered.  Her findings were that the video is real.  She determined that the cat’s sides were in conjunction with the bark sounds emanating from the cat.  It was determined that the cat was making a bark like sound indeed, but it is the sound of a cat when sometimes it is coughing.  Coughing, bark sounding cats can have a medical condition that need attending.  One condition could be a lung or pulmonary condition.  If your cat seems to be barking, it maybe best for the animal to be checked out by an animal doctor.
