What Pets Can Teach Us at Christmas
The simple delights of cats in the family.
I watched one of our cats in the garden the other day, a lovely black boy, only two years old and full of summer mischief. He doesn’t know it’s Christmas. All he knows is how to give love and how to accept it.

This wonderful bundle of joy got me thinking about Christmas, about the pleasures of giving and receiving love, not presents. If only we were all more like the pets in our lives. They give their love unconditionally, loving you even when you’re too busy to stop and talk to them.

They’re not expensive to entertain, instead, they give you hours of entertainment for simple the cost of being loved in return. And fed, of course.

Stress is not a problem. When they feel tired, they simply go to sleep. Or find a space of their own.

We could all do well to be more like our pets this Christmas:
-delight in the simple joys around us
-give and receive love unconditionally
-reduce the cost by keeping things simple
-chill out, take time out for relaxation
Observe your pets. They could teach you a few simple rules to live by.

Like your philosophy…love the pics. Your black looks just like my Sam, the hurricane survivor, but I guess all black cats look alike except to their owners. lol.

You are so right. Sometimes I wish the people around us behaved more like this. Lovely work.

Except for stealing the entire turkey one year, my pets could care less about the holidays. Every day is a holiday too them.

That is so true, they are amazing! I have two black ones, I used to have another one but she was 20 years old already and went to heaven. I have a yellow and white, and a long hair calico, and also a gray and white. They are my babies and give me the best moments.
