Why buy an animal from a pet store when you can adopt from your local Humane Society and give an animal a home, which needs one desperately.

I have experience in this as my husband and I have adopted both our cat Oreo and our dog Dancer from our local humane society.

You can also visit petfinder.com to help you search all rescue facilities in your area. Once you find the animal you are looking for head on out to your local shelter to find your new family member.
Why do I recommend adoption of an animal instead of buying? Well, there are several reasons. The first is so many abandoned animals are in shelters right now looking for a loving home, and it is an affordable way to get the new family member. Second buy adopting you are guaranteeing that new unwanted animals won’t be possible since all animals are fixed. This helps control the pet population. Everyday there are thousands of animals turned lose on the street to fend for themselves. You have the opportunity to be a hero to an animal you needs a loving family.
All animals need a home but why place money into the pockets of wealthy breeders when you have the chance to be a hero?
