How to teach your dog to sit.
Firstly, you gotta make sure your dog ain’t a really old dog. An old dog can learn new tricks, Mythbusters proved it, but a really old dog might not even stand up to walk.
Secondly, try to get some treats that your dog will like.
The first basic thing to do is teach it how to sit. Basically, you say sit. Now, press down on the abdomen of the dog, and make sure its chest doesn’t touch the ground, and if it’s butt goes down without the rest of its body touching the ground, its sitting, and give it a treat and say good dog.
Repeat. Say “sit”, push down its butt, when it sits, give it a treat and say “Good dog!” Sometimes, don’t give it a treat, just say “good dog” because when you give it too many treats, it will be dependent on treats, and won’t want to sit without you giving it a treat.
Remember! Say sit as many times possible while getting it to sit, as this will help the dog to recognize this command.
