Rescuing Kittens: The Real Deal
(A Story & an Advice)
Cats are very lovable, social and friendly creatures (once you get to know them). Just like any other animals, they are at their cutest when they are young. Even if you aren’t a cat lover, please read this article. This is something I experienced a few months ago, and here’s what happened.
It was a normal weekend; I was just sitting on the couch watching TV. Until my 9 year old cat meowed wanting to go out to the garden. Each time she goes out I follow her and supervise her for ten minutes or so. Suddenly, I heard a babyish yowl. I didn’t know what it was, so my curiosity kept me listening to the noise and I followed it anxiously. I had small swimming pool, and it had a pump. The pump was at the corner of the garden, and that’s where I heard the noise. I scanned the whole pump and still I see nothing; when the noise came again, I saw a poor and helpless little kitten. It looked as if it entered a garbage dump, I felt so sorry for the little feline, so I called my mom. I told her there was a kitten, and my mom is a mom, so she just can’t see a little baby by itself without a mom. I told her to bring it in and we agreed to. We wrapped it in a warm blanket and placed it carefully on a basket. The little baby kitten was shivering. My mom wet her fingers with clean, warm water and fed the drops to the kitten. It started to quite down. The next part is the HARD part.
I decided to call my dad since he’s the ‘wise’ one. He said to place the kitten where it belonged. I didn’t go with the flow. I said no, but my dad said the mother cat would be looking for it. I said, there was no mother cat (man, I have some excuses!). So my dad hung up and I told my mother about what dad said. Even she said no to let the kitten go back to the pump.
