Before you get a dog make sure you are well prepared. The basic equipment you will need are:
A lead; a long lead is best so they run ahead until you have trained them to come back on your command. Then you can get a short lead to take them to the park and field and let them of when you get there.
Food; if you get a puppy then make sure that you get food which have puppy on the side. the can will have how much to give to the dog depending on the size of the dog. Also get dried food but if you do use half of each of the amounts on the side of the packaging.
Toys; get some toys to keep your dog entertained if you go out. My dog loves an old pair of tights with a tennis ball in one of the legs. Also chews to keep the dog from chewing furniture.
Spray; you can make this by using an empty window cleaner bottle, clean it and then fill it with water you can spray this on your dog to stop it jumping up, chewing furniture etc.
Treats; get some treats to train your dog my dog will do anything for cereal. See my next article on how to train your dog.
Remember dogs are for life not for christams!!!!
