Make Your Dog Popular with Other People

How to make him behave well in front of people.
Visitors will like your dog much better if he stays on the floor and does not jump all over them. And neighbors will like him better if he does not run after their cats and dig up or sprinkle their gardens. You can make him behave well to your friends and neighbors by making him behave well at home.
The main thing to keep in mind about teaching your dog to behave himself is that you must scold him for doing the wrong thing, and praise and reward him for doing what you want him to do. Try to use one tone of voice for scolding and another tone for praising. He will shortly give you no reason to scold him. Do not ever use a harsh, angry tone, even for scolding, for it will only scare your dog.
Choose a suitable name for your dog and always call him by it. Use the same words for commands: “Sit!”, “Lie down!”, “Heel!”, and “Stop!”. When you take your dog out for a walk, whether he is on a leash or not, train him to obey the commands “Stop!” and “Go!” or “Okay!” at street crossings. In the time he will understands that you are telling him to watch out for trucks and automobiles.
With a dog of your own, well-fed, well-trained, and happy, you will always have a good buddy.

It is really annoying when one on my friend’s dogs jumps on me when I enter the house.

Very helpful advice. We recently were given a 2 year old dog by a friend of ours and she’s needing to learn to behave better.
