Keeshonden Dog Breed

I own 2 Keeshonden pronounced (Kazehawnd).

They are very loveable temperments, good with kids. They are very smart and intellectual, fun loving, energetic animals. They love to be out doors. They only shed 2wice a year. Technically they shed all year, but they go through a heavy shedding period every spring and fall. They are easily trainable. If you are looking for a good guard dog/ alarm system they are well known for being used at the front of ships to alarm sailors of arriving company. They are not very agressive at all. Keeshonds are usually attention seeking dogs. Just like most dogs they are proned to certain health problems when older. Keeshonds would make excellent pets for younger kids. Will protect them if any harm comes along.

Most keeshonds are protective of their family, and when greeted with other people who come around a lot our also part of their family circle. Those who aren’t are not greeted very well at the door.

Keeshonds need plenty of excercise a day. They do better as outside dogs (males who are not fixed.) Love playing ball and loves long walks. but not too long in the summer.

Keeshonds get along with most animals (cats and dogs). unless not social with other animals. They are also used for hunting small game such as rabbits, squirells, mice, rats. So if you have small pets along those lines, Keeshonds would not be the greatest animals too get, unless small pets are in diff. room then where they can go.

over all, keeshonds make EXCELLENT pets, and protectors.
