Humans and Pit Bulls

How human error created negative stereotypes of this breed of dog.

When trying to find a dog for the family to play with, the last breed that would come to any American’s mind would be a pit-bull. Pit-bulls are one of the largest misunderstood breed of dogs that there are. Most people have a stereo typical belief that this particular animal cannot be trained as a house dog, and is indivertibly viscous. But this belief is fully based upon stereo types, and not facts.

Fact: All animals have natural animal instincts, even humans.

When these natural instincts are interpreted in the wrong manner they leave a bad taste in people’s mouths. They associate all dogs of this breed with the actions of a few, without completely understanding the circumstances in which the actions took place.

If you are raised to believe that racism is not wrong, from the time you were born into adult hood, it becomes something natural. Human error raised people to believe that racism is ok and human error raised pit-bulls to fight. A natural animal instinct causes self defense, but not attacking without cause. People raise pit-bulls to fight without proper reasoning, and because of this it becomes something natural to a dog.

The key to training a dog, is to train them with the proper values. You want your dog to be able to protect you, but only when necessary. You want your dog to be able to be around children, and cope with the minor abuse they might encounter. Everyone who owns a dog, and exposes them to children knows that everything a child does to a dog is not appropriate. Whether it is; pulling the dog’s ears, pulling the dog’s tail, or trying to sit on the dog. These actions might not get a friendly response from the dog, but this is only because of animal instinct. The dog probably feared that it was being attacked, especially if these are actions that they are not familiar with. But if these negative responses to children are quickly dealt with, in the proper manner, the dog will realize that it is not being attacked, and that it is ok to relax.

When obtaining a dog, the dog owner must understand that he/she has to fully commit to the training of said dog. You cannot expect an animal to domesticate itself, and to know what to do, and not to do around humans. Pit-bull are a misunderstood breed because of human error, human error taught pit-bull to fight to the death, not natural instincts. Therefore people must learn to own up to the wrong things that they have done, and realize that it affects the name of the breed more than them themselves.

  1. finally some positive useful information on on of the most misunderstood, mistreated breed of dog

  2. i totaly agree with this, its not the dogs that are mean its the owners who make them mean. we need to stop killing dogs out of fear!

  3. Yes finally is right, I have a red nose boy and I have had him since her was 3 weeks old. He loves my daughter, kids period. He was the last of his litter all the rest died. I love my dog more than human life because he is like my child. He is not mean but he will protect our home with out a doubt. The dog is not to blame for what a human has taught it to do, kill the human not the dog. How is it ok to kill a living thing as a dog but not a human who made it what it is? What people do not understand they tend to fear. I would never fight my dog or make him harm another who is not trying to harm me. He is lovable and sweet. But like a child he has a mind of him own and he does not always do as he is told at first. He is very curious about people and things in general. Time has showed that what people do not like they make stupid judgements on like homosexuals, african americans,Jews and many others. People need to stop making pit bulls a stereotype because not all pit bulls a evil and mean. Humans are vicious and many deserve to be put to death but are giving many chances to do the same crime over again. Any dog can be vicious small or large at anytime, animal instinct. Just like human instinct, if someone is trying to kill me do not think for a moment I will not try to kill them first. It has nothing to do with my race or my background, but me as a human. I will be a voice for my pit bull and I will not stop until pits are given the same rights that ugly small dogs have
