A good dog for people with an active, outdoor, lifestyle are:
Australian Shepherds
They were bred to be working dogs whose main duty was herding sheep and other animals around their master’s farm.
Because of this,` they are very energetic dogs and love strenuous exercise such as running, jumping, and hiking. Australian Shepherds are also very intelligent and crave mental stimulation.
This combination of qualities makes the Australian Shepherd a great breed of dog for people who have active, outdoor, lifestyles.

I am an owner of a 2 1/2 year male Australian Shepherd. And yes indeed, they are intelligent. I believe one day he will just start to speak. lol He is protective, loyal and always happy. I hope he lives a long, long time.
