Creative Ways to Organize Your Computer Area

Organize your computer zone to avoid cluttered space. Keep your work space neat with a few simple storage ideas and organization techniques.

Keep your computer desk organized with a few simple ideas. Whether you’re storing passwords or posting reminders, a few simple organization tools can help keep piles of paper out of sight.

Passwords Box

Keep non-important passwords (like your Pandora’s Box account) filed in alphabetical order on index cards in a recipe card box on your desk. It allows you to look up non-financial and non-personal accounts quickly and easily while you’re surfing the web — keep some spare cards handy in the box for jotting down new registration information as well.

Cork Board

Since sticky notes tend to lose their stickiness in a matter of minutes, a classic be-ribboned cork board can provide a smart solution. Glue to the inside of your computer cabinet or hang on the wall nearest to your desk. Criss-crossed ribbons glued to the back or a handful of colorful thumb tacks lets your post reminders in plain sight.

Cereal Box Storage

Cover empty, open cereal boxes with contact paper; remove computer paper from its open plastic binding and slide inside boxes for storage. Label with type (ie, card stock, computer paper, photograph paper) and keep stacked neatly on your desk. This will help keep your paper from being mangled when you pull out sheets for the printer.

Keeping your computer desk organized only takes a few simple storage techniques. Having your supplies handy and your workspace free can make a big difference to your office experience.
