Using a “to do” list created every night will accomplish your goals.
If it sounds too easy, it really is one of the best tools to use. By creating your “to do” list each night and keeping to that list you will soon find your tasks that normally you would procrastinate on getting completed with ease. Rather than working harder, you will find yourself working smarter. It matters not what your field is, just that you are creating a path to follow. In time you will see your goals becoming more clear and concise. Everyone has experienced the time consuming confusion of what to do first. Often the hours go by and you have accomplished only more confusion as you dwell on all that you need to do, going from one task to the other and never completing a full task. Does this sound familiar to you? Start by keeping your goals for the next day down to a minimum, then after getting use to using this new tool you will find yourself able to add more tasks to your list.
Learn to prioritize your “to do” list putting the more difficult tasks first. This way your energy level can be put to better use. Simpler tasks at the end of your list that need less energy are still getting done. Deal with one task at a time and as the day progresses you are not stressed but energized by what you have gotten done. Time will be your friend, rather than a cause for more stress. Managing your time is so important to your success. You cannot stop time from moving forward, but you can empower yourself to use time wisely rather than chasing it and never catching up. This habit drains your energy, and causes more confusion and you end up being depressed and nothing gets done.
Try this simple technique tonight, and keep at it for one week. You will be amazed at what you can change and accomplish with just a few minutes on your list. Follow your list and see the added energy you will still have at the end of your day. Time will not be your enemy any longer. By following your list, you will find yourself tweaking your list you will continually become more effective and efficient with the hours in your day.
