Ways Around The Recession

Advice on saving your hard earned cash.

In the current climate its hard to have extra cash to spend on clothes, meals or nights out, however the advice i can give is this, when going to do your next weekly shop, before leaving the house check what is in the kitchen cupboards and fridge. Look what you have found, you probably see that the biscuits you brought last week have not been eaten yet or that the milk in the fridge has gone off, so dont buy such items if you will not use them and for the milk as an example buy a smeeler bottle of milk, i myself buy the carton milk as its long life and lasts for months and its cheap at the same time.

I guess what im trying to tell you is that although its nice to have your little luxuries, if your not using them dont spend your money on them, simple as that. Whats also worth remembering, cheaper brands most the time taste the same as the branded products and the most of the big store brands are alot cheaper as well.

I recently went to Tesco the other day and i brought all my weekly shopping and all the products i brought where all tesco’s own brands and believe it or not i saved an astonishing £22.33 from the previous week when i brought mainley all branded products and all the items i brought the most recent week was pretty much the same items as the previous week before.

There are many ways of saving money and this is just one way of saving and if you think about it i saved just £22.33 in one week, do it for four weeks and you have saved yourself almost £100, thats £100 more a month just by you not buying all the branded products.

Whats also good to remember is when doing your shopping look for the promotions each store has which usualy lasts one week and then changes. You can also buy from the discounter range or price cut range which i know most big retailers have, i.e tesco, asda and sainsbury.

When buying frozen products visit iceland as they are cheap for these kind of products and one easy way to really save money on your fresh poultry, meat and fruit is to visit your local market as most the time they will give you bulk stock as cheaper prices, i recently went to my local market and brought £40 worth of chicken breast and got it for £20 just by bargaining with the but butcher there, remember if they dont sell the meat it will just end up being thrown away so they will do anything to get rid of there stock so use this to your advantage.
