Tips to Save Money When Grocery Shopping $$

Tips to help you save money when grocery shopping, yet still get the quality items that you want.
I started making the following changes and my grocery bill has decreased on average of $60 – $80. I was regularly paying $220 per week for my family and now spending less than $150. That’s a whole tank of gas, without skimping on quality.
- Start collecting coupons from magazines, newspapers, store websites (such as Target.com), phone books, and manufacturer websites.
- Organize your coupons for easy searching and visibility. I like to using a small picture album which fits in my pocket book so that it’s readily available. You can purchase them at Dollar Stores or super centers. Sometimes you receive them free in the mail.
- Use sales papers and coupons to help you create a grocery list. (Take advantage of huge deals on meats by buying extra and storing in the freezer.)
- Go shopping while you are still full. This keeps you from splurging on unneeded items.
- Stick to your grocery list!
- If you have coupons to save a certain amount of money (such as $10) if a minimum (such as $50) is reached, then consider having a spouse or friend go with you. Then split the groceries and both use the coupon for additional saving.
- Take advantage of special discount days, such as Senior Day, if you qualify.
I wish you great luck on saving money. Have fun and enjoy the extra cash that you have each week.
