Tips to Lower Your Utility Bills

What to do to help in lowering your utility bills.

Use fluorescent light bulbs, they not only last longer than regular light bulbs, but they also use less energy when in use, that will cost you a lot less on your energy bill. Did you know that even though you turned your TV off it is still pulling electricity? I didn’t. And that goes for everything that you have in your home that is plugged in. So we started putting everything on power boxes and when we went to bed we pulled there cords so that the appliances where not pulling on the electricity adding to your bill while you are asleep and it was easier to plug in one thing then half a dozen. Doesn’t quite seem fair does it?

Take shorter showers. Reducing your shower time will not only lower your water bill but your energy bill as well. Yea right, like that is even going to happen. I have very few things that I enjoy and that is one of them. We all have to have our little enjoyments right?

Try setting your thermostat a couple of degree’s high in the summer and lower in the winter. A couple of degrees should not make a big difference in the comfort of your home, but it can make a big difference in your electric bill.

Try covering your windows from the inside with Heat Control Window Film which is not that expensive and easy to install. You will see an immediate improvement on your electric bill and you can still see out but the light does not come through strongly.

Here is one of my big pet peeves with my daughter. Don’t do a load of dishes or wash clothing unless you have a full load. You smaller loads not only waste water but energy as well.

These are just a few of the things that you can do in helping to lower your bills. Hope that they helped you.
