Seven Ways You Can Keep to the Budget and Avoid Being a Victim of Recession

There comes a time that a man has got to do what a man has got to do. That time is here, and the ¨DO¨ to be done is budgeting. There is a time to spend wisely, a time to budget and stick to it, but there is no time to be a spend thrift. This time is called the budgeting time!

With the current recession, be assured that most of the people will want to throw the whole water bill into your wallet even if you did not consume the water. There are people looking out for someone to blame, someone who can carry their burdens, someone who can sort out their utility bills for them. Don´t be a victim.

Budgeting, the way to beat The Recession

  1. Plan ahead your of your expenditure. Do not rush for the cheque before you have a list of what you want to do with that money. Most people seem to enjoy having money in their hands but you need to know money unallocated is money flowing out of your hands. Liquid money flows very fast, no wonder it is called currency.

  2. Do not accept services without a quotation ahead of the service. Quotations guide you to know how much money you will spend for any service or goods to be purchased. Every time anyone volunteers to offer services before they quote just know that trouble is brewing. Once the work is done you have no way of turning down the invoice. You end up owing just because the bill is higher than you expected. No quotation, No service!

  3. Watch where you shop and when you shop for your groceries. This may not make sense to you now until you do some thorough research on the grocery shop sale season. It is well known that most of the grocery shops offer groceries on sale several times in a month. What you need to know is that the sale prices actually differ! In the countries where pay-checks are done monthly, there is a mid-month sale and end-month sale. Wisdom-byte: The mid-month sale is actually the real sale! So make sure you shop during this time. You can budget for your groceries such that you do the main shopping for the groceries during the mid-month sale.

  4. Be Maths-wise while shopping. Supermarkets are great in the area of brain teasing! They play great maths games on you literally every month. Shop owners know that you will be coming around with your budget and you really want to stick to it. The price difference for the items that come in different packaging have a slight difference in the pricing, its a matter of logic! For example; If 200g of cheese costs a dollar, check out the 450g pack it is most likely to cost two dollars. See the logic? So if you want value for your money you might as well make a plan to buy the 450g pack and you will have saved half a dollar. You get more for less!

  5. Start your own foundation of saving a dollar a day for long-term investments. In case you want to educate yourself or your children, It is advisable to plan for them in advance. Don´t surprise yourself with such things. You want to buy a house. Start investing now, a dollar or two a day, you could start by using a piggy bank at home. Which brings the next point.

  6. Have a savings account. After collecting several dollars that you saved in your piggy bank, remember to take the money to your savings account. Make sure you have researched the on the available savings accounts and you have understood the benefits of each one of them before settling in on one. It may sound old fashioned but it works wonders. Note: Do not be in a rush to with draw the money. Otherwise the benefits of the savings account will not be on your side. Make it a long term investment.

  7. Just don´t do it! Keep out of trouble. For those who drive, drive safely, an accident is more expensive than taking precaution. Pay your utility bills in time to avoid penalties. Avoid every extra charges by keeping on the right side of the law wherever.

Recession mite does not bite, unless you are on the wrong side of track which means you are on its track!

Happy budgeting!
