If it is broken and can be fix, fix it, if it can be sew, sew it. I take old clothes that husband or I can no longer wear or old and worn out cut them in squares and use them making quilts or crafts ideas or cleaning rags.
Cut down your cost of spending by using what is in your home or shopping at dollar stores, buying in bulk. Grandma use to say, to save a penny, you have to earn a penny. Many times as I am taking my daily walk I found loose change on the ground I pick it up and place it in my pocket, when I get home I drop the loose change in my saving bank. I save all the loose change I get from my change I get in return from grocery shopping etc. Back in our incestors time it was hard for them too, they had to stretch every dollar, back then a dollar did not get to far.
If it can be fix, fix it, if it can be sew, sew it. Recycling, swapping, maybe you have a friend or use Craig’s list to trade with someone for something else. Swapping saves money. Books, you read the book, swap or change the book with someone else who may have not read it for another book that they may have in their home library. It does save on your pocketbook.
Use left overs from your meals, make T.V dinners out of the left overs and freeze them for another meal. I am a mother of foru children, a son and three daughters and we did not have much money to go out and splurt so I learn to sew, my husband is very handy making things out of wood. Growing up; my grandmother made me a doll made out of old rags and I appreciated that doll more then a store bough doll, she made our dresses, buy our shoes from discount stores like the old 5& dime stores. I have told my children that a gift made by their own hands is more valuable then a store bought gift because it comes from their hearts and made by their own idea and made by their own hands. I enjoy sewing today and make quilts out of rags from old worn out clothes or from the clothes they may grew out of.
Save gas, start riding a bike if you have a nearby store. I am 51 years old I ride bike at least twice a week, good exercise and saves on our pocket books. There are many ways you can strecth a dollar by doing research and using coupons.
My husband and I didn’t have money to splurt out on a fancy vacation so when our children was little we took them camping and use our local beaches a lot. We had family quality time, helped my family grow stronger together. Family that prays together, stays together.
