Money, Money Everywhere: Literally

How to develop simple and permanent wealth…

Coming back from the brink

Near the end of the American Depression, banks and insurance companies contracted a writer by the name of George Samuel Clason to write a series of short stories to encourage the public to develop sensible financial skills.

Out of those short stories came a book called “The Richest Man in Babylon.”  It is still regarded as the most successful wealth building strategy of all time.  Those who have followed it to the word have benefited greatly. Amazingly enough, it shows that, by following a few simple rules, anyone can build a solid financial base.

And even more amazingly.  It is 100% effective to all those who follow it honestly.

Lest we forget?

In todays world, these lessons seem to have been forgotten.  Evidenced by the partial collapse of the financial system during the credit crunch.

Strangely enough, as the book points out.  Humanity has known the secret to getting rich since the beginning of civilization.  And it has nothing to do with luck, breeding or country.  It is purely a matter of planning and some effort.

For those who would try to suggest excuses, take note.  These parables were far more instrumental in ending the depression than any political or financial policy.  Nearly every millionaire in America during the 1930’s credited the lessons from this simple book for their wealth.

So what can you expect if you decide to take the plunge and read it?

You will read a few home truths that will be hard to swallow.  But the truth is always painful.

However, once you get past that, you will find a little set of rules that when followed, will lead to enormous wealth over time. You will also come to realize that financial success is no different now than it was 5 thousand years ago.  A rather disconcerting realization when it fully hits you.

So, before you ’supposedly invest’ in a financial advisor, wealth manager, motivator, or yet another scheme that promises the Earth.  You might want to spend a few hours reading this small book.  You will find far better advise that is far easier to understand.

What to do?

Buy it, borrow it, get it out at the library.  The important thing is that you read it and follow it.  Because it will be the greatest investment you will ever make.  It gives you the opportunity to stop living in debt, and to start living in wealth.  Not bad for a book that you can buy for as little as $10!
