How to Buy Organic Without Spending More Money

Organic foods are a healthier and usually more expensive choice. If you want to go organic, look for ways to save money at the same time.
There are many people who desire to incorporate more organic foods into their diet but the elevated price on organic foods has detoured them away. I have found five easy ways to get organic products for the same price as conventional foods or even at times, cheaper.
1. Always compare organic produce that is on sale with the conventional. Almost every week I find grapes, or broccoli or apples that are cheaper to buy organic than if I had just bought the conventional. It takes some extra time but it’s worth it, especially when you find organic produce at a cheaper price.
2. Before you go grocery shopping, visit the brand of what you’re buying for printable coupons. Most organic products have coupons on their website that are a significant savings ($1-$2 off). This simple task can reduce the price back down to what you’re used to paying.
3. Find a local organic farm. You may think I’m crazy, but there are a lot more local organic farms than you may think. I live in a medium size city in the U.S. and I found one just 20 miles from my house. Local farms are not only cheaper they’re much better for your community and the environment.
4. Shop online. There are many products I use a ton of on a monthly basis and so I researched online and found that it’s much cheaper to buy many of these organic products at online retailers like amazon.com by the case. You will have to buy a case at a time but for items that you go through frequently, it’s well worth it for the bottom line. The best part is most of these websites offer free shipping (and there’s no sales tax!).
5. Go to retail discount stores like Big Lots. They sell a lot of organic products that have been overstocked. They’re not past date and there’s nothing wrong with them. The best part is they’re usually reduced 50% from their original retail price.
The old saying, “where there’s a will, there’s a way” proves true again. If you seriously want to incorporate more organic products then do a little foot work and you’ll end up eating better while saving money
