Don’t panic with the increases of fuel price. Here are a few tips to save your money.
The increasing price of the fuel caused us have to allocate more money to run our vehicles. Here are a few tips to squeeze a bit more distances out of each gallon of fuel.
- Change your oil filter regularly: Oil filter is a device used to decontaminate oil that contains suspended impurities. A dirty air filter restrict the flow air into the engine, hence decreases the performance of your car. It eats up fuel and cost you more money. So, do not forget to change the oil filter each time you service your car whether the oil filter is still can be use.
- Clean Out Your Car: The more heavier your vehicle means more energy and more money you should spent to move. Due to this reason, carrying around excess weight will significantly affect your mileage. Clean out your car regularly can remove excess weight on your vehicles especially the excess mud that stuck on your vehicles body. You are also advised to empty out your boot of unnecessary items.
- Do Not Speed: The aerodynamic drag increases exponentially with your car speed. For example, driving at a speed of 100 km/h will reduce fuel consumption by about 15 percent as compared to driving at 120 km/h.
- Get Back To Nature: Switch on air conditioner when necessary only. Consider shutting off the air conditioner, opening the windows and enjoying the breeze from time to time. It may be a tad warmer (in the hot countries), but at the lower speeds you’ll save fuel as switching on the air conditioner puts 20 percent more load to engine.
- Pump Up Those Tyres: It is important for you to regularly check the air pressure in your vehicle’s tyres. Do not drive under-inflated tyres. Under inflated tyres wears down more quickly and your car’s petrol mileage may plummet by as much as 15 percents.
As a conclusion, do not be panics with the increases of the fuel price. Do your bits to save your money and enjoy your journey.
