In this time of budget cuts, many Americans are reviewing places in their budgets they can cut back. One place many to cut is the purchase of the daily cup of coffee. However, if you’re like many Americans, deleting coffee from the morning would be a hardship for many who work too many hours without enough sleep.
In this time of budget cuts, many Americans are reviewing places in their budgets they can cut back. One place many financial analysts advise to cut is the purchase of the daily cup of coffee. Analysts understand by tracking purchases consumers can save money on their daily living expenses. Unfortunately, if you’re like many Americans that daily cup of coffee is a “luxury” we need in order to get going in the morning. Deleting coffee from the morning would be a hardship for many adults who work too many hours without enough sleep.
In our family, we have come up with a compromise that everyone can live with. For the last year, we have saved over $3564.00 by not buying our daily coffee fix from outside coffee vendors! That allowed us to have a vacation this year even with the economy in its current situation! For a little start up cost, you can open your own coffee shop right in your home and at your desk!
Here’s what you need to start your own coffee house!
A good coffeemaker with a timer and a one-cup coffee maker for your desk – We loved the taste of fresh ground coffee so we invested a bit more in our coffee maker and purchased one with not only a timer but also a built in coffee grinder. The one-cup coffee makers for our desks were inexpensive and very handy for those days we needed more than one cup of coffee to get going. Keep in mind if you must have an espresso in the morning you can get makers with timers for those too!
A Milk Frother – If you really need to have that latte in the morning then you’ll need a Milk Frother. Milk Frothers are fairly inexpensive and easy to use. Just follow the directions and you’ll have your lattes in minutes. Some mile Frothers are also microwaveable!
Good Coffee – Quality beans are essential to a good cup of coffee. If Starbucks is all you can dream about then you can purchase their coffee at the grocery store for just a lot less than the drive through! It’s best to purchase beans but if you’re not that much of a coffee fanatic then have your coffee ground at the grocery store. It’s easy to do and the flavor is worth the two minutes it will take you.
Quality Travel Mugs – You now can purchase coffee to go cups by Dixie and other manufactures, but consider buying yourselves some nice Travel Mugs instead. Consider it your contribution to going green. We suggest you buy two mugs per coffee drinker just in case they forget to bring the cup home.
Space – You will need to set aside a place for you coffee maker and all the things you like with your coffee. Why search for things when you can have them all in one place for quick access in the morning.
Once you have your coffee area set up, all you have to do is get in the habit of setting up the coffee the night before. The coffee maker will handle the rest and you will have coffee ready by the time your ready to go. All you’ll need to do is fix your coffee the way you like it. For latte’s a little more prep time is needed but just think of what you’ll be saving each year! Even in these tough times, you still don’t need to give up the luxury of a good cup of coffee. Enjoy!
