The school year is here again and all is well. Based from experience, I know that practically all freshmen are loving the excitement of being finally a part of the college scene just because it is a whole new environment for them. The underclassmen are all very excited about the fact that they get to move out of the home and squeeze themselves into a tiny dorm or a cramped 8 person apartment. So maybe eight persons in a place seem like a lot, but it happens believe me. My point is simply that you are broke but still you love every second of it. Is this correct? I find it so funny that this is the way college works. I went to college with practically no money and I had the greatest time. But then, I was also applying for a student loan and Pell grant, so it was alright.
I was always able to budget my money to pay tuition fees and books as well as the cost of living. But then, there was not much money left for other things but it did not matter so much to me. In college, I did not really care that I was living in a cramped little dorm at that time. I had a lot of good fun during that point in my life. This is what is always on my mind now that I have completed college. I am talking about the debt that students accrue over the subsequent 4 years. And then quickly, the time will come for consolidation of student loans.
My mom always tells me that I should never go nuts in college. No, she was not talking about my psychological condition, but the state of my finances. I very quickly discovered that what she meant was that I should not go berserk with my credit cards or cash. Back in college I never had cash. I spent using my credit cards. It definitely was a wise idea not to spend too much on fun and recreation, just so I would not end up with a huge debt on credit cards in the end. I ended up taking the recourse of consolidation of student loans, which was inevitable really. Not to dampen anyones sunshine or anything but this is the truth. When you obtain a student loan, you need to know about consolidation of student loans after you graduate. Look for one with low payments monthly. I could not deal with having many bills immediately after college. But after I consolidated my student loan, monthly bills were reduced.
