Beginning of The Budget-day Two

Following my family as we try to save money and our home in this economy.

Well, it’s day two. Yesterday went okay with spending. Today, to continue with my goal of doing something to save I reduced my magazine subscriptions and saved $5.00 every month or $60.00 every year. We live in a very rural area and sometimes the only outside influence we get is through magazines. I also enjoy relaxing and mindlessly flipping the pages. So, the tally so far is $14.53 saved every month or $174.36 every year. That chunk of change keeps growing and already I feel like I’m doing a great job.

A heads up since it’s Friday- I have been thinking that weekends should be  the time to really crack the whip so it’s going to be a big project. I’m thinking of tackling my pantry and freezers and using everything up and only buying the essentials. I’m also thinking of doing a blog instead…does anyone know a paying blog site? Every cent counts.

A potentially huge burden this weekend could be the weekly Wal-Mart, grocery, errand trip. My goal for this is to make a list of only what we need and stick to it…easier said than done. I hope everyone has a great weekend and finds a way to save.
