Learn how to negotiate for a cheaper price on everything you buy.
Experts say that we can negotiate almost on anything for a cheaper price, with anyone, and anywhere. However, you have to be comfortable in your own skin to drive a hard bargain. Some people are good at it; others will just pay the price and be done with.
These four expert hagglers either provide personal service, or resources and tips on their website.

Icy, You are right. I worked in retail mgmt for yrs and know that many things can be bargained. Say someone opened the pkg to look at it better, and laid it back on the shelf. If another asked, I would give it to them for 1/2 off. If they didn’t they would pay full price. There is some discretion there, and we can use it to our advantage.
Good job here. Thanks. There are some places the buyer expects us to haggle so the price is actually set higher.

when i’m working at my dad’s store and trying to sell some jewelry.. usually i tell the customer a slightly higher price that it’s supposed to be…and then get my dad to bring the price down a little bit. The people love it! that’s how sales works though… they make it so that you can negotiate without having to lose any money
Just thought i’d share! great article!

Icy,
This is awesome! At some establishments, you can negotiate a lower price. Besides, what’s the worst thing they can say? no?? It’s always worth the effort to save money!!

This is truly informative. I have to steel myself to bargain because I still feel a bit uneasy about it. However, last week I went to buy some fabric for a sofa cover that I want to make. They had a large unopened roll (I know that this is not the word used for it, but I can’t think of it right now) and two near-end ones.
I asked for one of the end ones to be measured but it was just short of the amount I wanted, so I offered to buy the other end one as well, if they gave them to me at a cut price. They were happy to, and I walked out with some great fabric (in two pieces mind you, but perfect fabric anyway) having paid half of what it was worth. I was pleased with myself!
