A Great Way for Moms and Dads to Save Money

In these trying economic times, it seems that everyone is looking for a new way to save a few dollars but in your quest for a new way to entertain the family, don’t forget about the old ones.

The local library is a wonderful resource of fun, entertainment and education that is free.  That’s right.  Just go on into your local library and request a card.  Cards are given for free and enable the card holder to check out as many as 50 books and 10 movies at a time.  Your local library has many popular titles available including many new releases.  If they don’t have what you’re looking for, you can reserve a copy with the librarian and she will call you when it becomes available.

I was surprised to find the latest seasons of some of my favorite television series as well as movies that I wanted to rent but couldn’t afford to.

Most libraries also offer exciting programs for children including story time, crafts and over the summer a read-a-thon that not only encourages kids to read but gives them fun prizes for doing so.

So the next time you’re looking for some inexpensive entertainment why not try your local library.
