There’s no easy way to move on after a failed relationship but few tips below will help you realize that life is worth living. Don’t be swallowed by your depression for life is too short to succumb on it. Pain is temporary and so is sadness.
1. Don’t spend too much time in “in-denial stage”. Accept the fact that you’re broken because of a failed relationship or a broken dream. Let yourself drown in tears for no one will stop you until you realized that it’s not worth crying for after all.
2. Be kind to yourself. Admit your mistakes but never blame yourself for all the mistakes. Learn the lessons instead.
3. Claim it to yourself that you are moving on and that you are willing to move on. Each day is another day to live, to breathe and to love.
4. You can look back but not with anger. Try to imagine that you are like flipping another page of your favorite book and that you’re ready for the next chapter.
5. Find time to listen to songs that you can relate to. By singing, you gain energy to hold on to something that will surely make you feel better.
6. If you can’t enjoy being alone, try to contact friends whom you haven’t talked to for a while. A cup of tea or a cup of coffee will do to start a good conversation.
7. Being broken doesn’t mean being hopeless. Instead, consider yourself lucky for being broken today because in the future you know your lessons and you’ll be mature enough to deal with it. No one in this world who is lucky enough not to feel how it’s like to be broken.
8. Travelling to new places is a good idea. There are many places that need to be explored. Simple things do bring simple joys in life.
9. Grab a pen and a notebook. Write whatever you feel as of the moment. Then read it aloud. You’ll realize that you don’t deserve to be lonely for a lifetime.
10. Quiet times are the best time to think, rethink and pray.
