Tips for Cleaning with Vinegar

Clean Burnt Pans
Place some water and a good splash of vinegar in a pan which has burnt food stuff on the bottom and boil. Allow to cool and leave the water and vinegar in the pan overnight. The offending burnt food stuff will come off far easier.

Remove Sticky Stickers
If you have tried to remove a sticker from an item and have been unable to then soak a cloth in some white wine vinegar then rub over the sticker. Allow the vinegar to soak in then it should peel off with ease.

Revive Your Paint Brushes
If you have some paint brushes which have gone hard then stand them in a pan of boiling vinegar for several minutes, bend back and fourth then rinse well.

Revive Faded Carpets
I’ve not tried this one however I’ve been assured it works. Mix boiling water and vinegar ratio 2:1 then soak a rag in the mixture then rub over the carpet. The colours should hopefully be revived.

Get Rid of Cigarette Smoke
Place some vinegar in a pot somewhere safe and the smell of smoke should disappear. If you are concerned the pot may get knocked then take an old jam jar with a metal lid. Pierce the lid several times and if it does get knocked over then only a small amount should spill.

Shine Your Taps
To remove scale around the base of taps dip an old tooth brush into neat vinegar and rub well. Once all scale has been removed run the taps and rinse well.

Clean Your Window Screen
Fill a bucket with warm water and add a good splash of vinegar and the grime will be removed in no time, then use a piece of scrunch up newspaper to remove and streaks.

Make Dishes Sparkle
If you have some particularly greasy plates/cooking utensils etc then add a few tablespoons of vinegar to the dishwasher to help cut through that grease.

Clean Your Dishwasher
Place a cup of white vinegar in your dishwasher and run a cycle and your dishwasher will be as sparkling as your plates.

Remove Soot
To remove soot from around fire places use some neat malt vinegar and scrub well. Once all the soot has been removed rinse well then rub over with a clean sponge or rag.

Revive Suede
To remove grease spots from suede dip a cloth in some neat white wine vinegar then dab on the offending spot. Once the spot has been removed refresh the pile of the suede using a stiff brush.

Remove Smells from Clothes
To remove the smell from cleaning cloths soak in vinegar for a while then wash for a smell free cloth.
