Space Creating Tips for Small Spaces

If you live in a small space, these tricks can help create the illusion of more space and avoid claustrophobia.
If you live in a small place, like my family does, then these methods can help you to maximize the space that you do have.
1. Natural light gives the illusion of space. Avoid heavy curtains and hang up mirrors (they reflect both light and space). This helps to avoid feeling claustrophobic.
2. Use the space underneath furniture for storage.
3. Invest in a good, everyday use sofa bed and sleep on that. They take up much less room than a bed, plus they work as your couch.
4. Rotate what you have accessible. During the summer, we put our winter coats in the loft. Keep the things you use on a daily basis in the most convenient places.
5. Put up wall shelves. You’d be amazed how much storage a few more shelves can provide. Above desks is a good place for this.
