How to Remove Really Stubborn Stains From a Carpet

Stains are inevitable part of carpet’s life and sooner or later your carpet will suffer a bad stain. Although, it can be heart stopping to find a large, nasty stain on your lovely new carpet, you should get yourself in hands and treat the stain as soon as possible before it becomes permanent part of your carpet. Instructions

  1. Depending on the fibers of your carpet, make a solution by mixing of ¼ teaspoon of liquid dish-washing detergent and 1 cup of lukewarm water for synthetic fibers, or 1 teaspoon of liquid dish-washing detergent and 1 cup of lukewarm for natural fibers.

  2. Saturate a clean, white cloth with your detergent solution, then blot the stain. Press the cloth firmly onto the stain for several seconds.

  3. Allow the solution to soak into the carpet for about 15 minutes, as suggested by carpet cleaning Wimbledon. During that time, rinse the white cloth used to apply the detergent solution and make a new solution of vinegar and water. Mix 1 cup of white vinegar and 2 cups of water for synthetic carpets, or ¼ cup of white vinegar and ¼ cup of water for natural carpets.

  4. Dip the cloth into the vinegar solution and dab at the stained area repeatedly. Then, press the cloth firmly onto the stain for several seconds.

  5. Allow the vinegar solution to sit on the carpet for about a quarter hour.

  6. Cover the stained area with paper towels and weigh them down with a heavy object to help absorbing the stain from the carpet.

  7. Wait for 15 minutes and remove the paper towels.

  8. Dampen a white cloth with lukewarm water and blot the stain to rinse the area.

  9. Let the carpet dry. If the stain remains, repeat the process or call professionals, such as carpet cleaning Wimbledon team, to take care of the stain.
