How to Get Syrup Off the Floor

Detailed instructions on how to get syrup off the floor.

I had recently spilled nearly half a bottle of syrup on my carpet flooring. I immediately went and grabbed my Oxi Clean to only find out it spread it across the floor even more!

So I decided to experiment with my own carpet remedy. I am here today to share the secret of syrup-on-carpet removal ingredients!

First, you will need to get a medium to large sized bottle of vinegar (Yes vinegar!). Then, get a small to medium sized bowl (plastic container bowls work well). Then get a 1 cup, and a 1/4 cup. And finally, you’ll need microwaved hot water. Mix ingredients together according to size. You will first need to obviously scoop up as much of the syrup as possible off the floor.

If your spill is a coin size (penny, dime, nickel, etc.), mix 1/2 of hot water and 1/4 of vinegar in the bowl, and either take a spoon and pour it on the spot, or just poor from the bowl to the floor on the spot.

If your spill is the size of a small plate, mix 1 cup of hot water, and 2/4 cup of vinegar, and repeat steps above.

If your spill is the size of a medium to large plate size, mix 1 1/2 cups of hot water, and 1 cup of vinegar. Repeat steps above.

If your spill is larger then a large plate, mix 2 cups of hot water and 1 1/2 cups of vinegar. Repeat steps above.

Let stand for about 2-3 minutes, then take a towel (it may take a couple of towels according to the size of your spill) and dab the spot at first, then scrub lightly. You may have to reapply water/vinegar to make sure you get all syrup off the floor.

After you are done, you may need to take some odor eliminating carpet powder to get rid of the smell of vinegar if the smell of vinegar bothers you. Or just open a window to air out the room.

I hope I helped! :)
