Extraordinary Uses for Paper Clips

There are many uses for paper clips apart from the obvious ones of holding papers together, and using as a missile, propelled by an elastic band.
- Use as clips to keep freezer bags, or bags of potato chips closed
- Sometimes the tags come off zippers and it’s really difficult to pull them up and down. A paper clip makes a good replacement.
- Make replacement hangers for Christmas tree ornaments with paper clips
- I keep a straightened out paper clip in the tray, on my desk. It’s exactly the right size for resetting my PC. (If you don’t know what I mean here take a look at the front of your PC tower and you will probably find a little hole, which is the reset hole.).
- A paper clip makes a good bookmark. Just clip it to the pages you have already read.
- Use a paper clip to hold sheet music in position if you are a musician, or use it to mark the next song in your music book (This make it much easier to turn the pages.).
- Bend a paper clip so that it has a point sticking up and a flat base. Use this to hold incense cones, or small candles in place.
- Paper clips make very good mixers for anyone who does craft work. Use them for mixing model paint and glue and then just throw them away.
- Keep gloves and socks in pairs while they are in storage by using paper clips
- Make it easy to find the end on a roll of transparent sticky tape by sticking a paper clip to the end
- If you like to attach photographs and other things to a cork message board, but don’t want to spoil them by pushing pins through them there’s a simple solution. Fix a paper clip to the pin and push the picture into the clip.
- Hang Christmas or birthday cards onto a ribbon using paper clips. This makes a very attractive decoration.

Were you bored when you came up with this? It’s interesting, but I’ve never looked so closely at something so simple. Just wondering what inspired the article.
