Correct Children’s Clothes for Winter

It can be very much a problem getting children to wear the correct clothes for winter, one of the problems being styles change so much and children as young as five know exactly what style is in this season! Take boots for instance, even for children there are so many styles to choose from, but the main two are primarily winter boots and snow boots, depending on your climate depends on the right style to choose.

Winter boots tend to be warm, but are not usually designed for very wet weather, and usually not snow and ice. Whereas snow boots are designed just for that, they have a tie at the very top of the boot to close the boot snug around your leg to ensure no snow gets into the boot, they have a good soul that has great grips for snow and ice and are indeed waterproof and wind proof.

Winter boots tend to be leather, but usually do have a lining to keep those little toes warm, for the normal UK weather they can take a small amount of rain and cope with it effectively, but when it snows or ice sets on the ground they can become slippery.

Now getting children to choose between the two … well as a mother of twin daughters I can tell you, it all about style than practicality, I personally would love my daughters to wear snow boots in the winter, even though geographically on the map here in the UK we do not have the worst winters. But Snow boots can be bulky and a lot of children do not like that. Winter boots on the other hand can be extremely stylish, and warm, you can get a small heal and the black leather is ideal for school, where as most schools will not allow snow boots for every day wear.

 Another factor is price, a pair of winter boots ranges from about £12 upwards, where as snow boots tend to easily double that – if you are paying less than they are not real good quality snow boots and will tend to leak. However, it seems many stars today are opting for the snow boot look, which in turn will give these boots the fashion statement they deserve, however for most parents because children cannot wear snow boots in schools this will put them off buying them as they way up the cost of buying them just for the weekend.
