Corn Oil: Not Just for Cooking

Here are some great around the house uses for corn oil.
- Help your cat with the problem of hair balls by adding a teaspoon of corn oil, to one of his or her meals, daily.
- Keep your cast iron skillets seasoned and rust free with corn oil. Heat some oil in a skillet, till the oil is hot a runs easily all over the skillet, move it around so that you cover the whole inside of the skillet. Remove from heat and wipe out with a paper towel, going over the whole inside of the skillet.
- To remove sticky tags on appliances, just rub some corn oil over the tag, let sit for a few minutes, then scrape the tag off.
- If you get a splinter, apply some oil to the wound. Leave it for a few minutes, then remove the splinter.
- Does Fido’s coat look a little dull? To add some shine, add a teaspoon of corn oil to each meal.
- Tired of the decals, you put on your windows. Soak the decal with corn oil, let sit for a few minutes, then scrape the decal off.
- Instead of removing oil based paint from your hands and arms with turpentine, use corn oil instead.
- To remove paper that is stuck to a wood surface, soak it with corn oil, and let sit for a while. Return and carefully peel off the paper.
- Corn oil works as a great moisturizer for your skin. Massage the oil into your skin and leave for about fifteen minutes. Wipe off the excess oil, and then take a hot bath.
- For those of us who have to shovel snow, make it a little easier by coating the shovel with corn oil. This will keep the snow from sticking to the shovel.

Great ideas. Thanks, Jessica. I already add oil to my cat and dogs food. In fact, they patiently wait until I drizzle the oil on before they go to the dish. lol
