Coming Back to Homemaking

A description of the homemakers skills, techniques and qualities.

Stay at home mothers, homemakers, housewives they do still exist.  I would classify them as professionals.  They are in a  profession that takes complete dedication and commitment.   These ladies require a lot of organizational skills, patience,  task scheduling techniques, time management qualities and team leadership skills.  These ladies are also great record keepers, family historians and party planners.   They also need to be nutritionists, paramedics and sometimes the family physician.  The really talented homemakers possess interior decorating skills and even artistic skills.

As for myself,  I work part time outside the home.  If I were to be a full time homemaker I would not have the artistic and home interior skills that the homemaker pros possess.  Those skills just are not in me.  I’ve tried to acquire those skills and I just can’t seem make them work for me.  One  would think inheritance would come into play in possessing these skills.  My mother can decorate beautifully inside and outside the home.  She can create a collection of items and display them just like a picture in a magazine.  Maybe I’m secretly not her daughter.  These types of skills seem so difficult for me.  I wonder if there was a mix up in the hospital when I was born.

With all the opportunities to work from home being more available these days.  It makes it easier for more women to stay at home and take care of their families.  I think it’s becoming the new wave of our future.  Some people even some women may not agree to this.  I think women are wanting to stay at home and are wanting to actually take care of their families.  It seems like we develop our careers as expected, we get married, we start a family and our children are off  to the caretakers.  It seems like we work more hours outside the home  then spending actually time with our families.   Are our children really getting the necessary skills they need to handle real life when it comes time for them to face it? Are they getting the emotional support needed to handle some of the cruel realities of life that they will face in their futures?

I am mother still working outside the home.  I am desparately wanting to be a full time homemaker.  I know in reality working outside the home is necessary.  It is for my household, at least for now.  I deeply envy all the women who can successfully stay at home with their families.  These women definately have it going on in their lives.  They have the perfect lifestyle in my opinion.
