Abc’s of Saving Money

Want to save some money? Here are some ideas!

a-air drying your clothes instead of throwing them in the dryer.

b-look into  bartering.  Many cities have websites that offer items that people are willing to barter.

c-coupons – use them whenever or wherever possible but only for the stuff you can use.

d-do-it-yourself!

e-Ebay – use Ebay to unload stuff you don’t need and make some money in the process.

f-fun – you don’t need a lot of money to have fun.

g-garage sales – clean your house and hold one or go to one. You never know what you will find there.  I have gotten new stuff that are still in their original packaging that I have used for gifts.

h-happiness is saving money!

I – ingenuity – this means being creative and thinking out of the box on ways to save money.  Make things like gifts.

j – Jones.  Keeping up with the Joneses seems to be a hobby of many which often leads to serious credit card debt.  Don’t make it your hobby!

k– knowledge IS power.  Know where your money is going.

l – library!  use your local library for books, movies, music, games and even classes!

m-money management.  Why not start a budget for each month?

n-not feeling deprived.  This is huge for people with little to no cash.  Always look on the bright side!

o-obvious. It is obvious why we need to be more frugal, more green and more careful with our money.   If we aren’t more careful with our God given resources, who will be?

p-plan ahead and save the money necessary

q-quilt.  Learn how to quilt using old odds and ends from damaged clothes.

r-reuse and recycle

s-soups and stews usually save money!  They are great for left overs

t-time – always pay your bills on time!

u-using the 24 hour rule. Always wait 24 hours before buying something.  Go home and think about it and if you still want it, then go buy it.

v-vending machines.  Avoid them at all costs!

w-wants vs needs

x—xtra money (ok, give me this one).  There are so many ways that you can save extra money by cutting  back on little things like taking your lunch instead of buying it; using the library instead of buying books; walk instead of taking your car.  You get the picture.

y-say yes to anyone that wants to give you something.  We often get hand me downs that we cannot always use but we pass them along to others that can.

z-zzzzz.  Having a great night sleep knowing that you have saved money today is one of the best feelings!
