In fact at times the concrete floor of a building or even a residential house looks far better than any carpet could make it, only if it is maintained. So, as the other areas of the constructions are taken care of with interest so should the floor be taken care of too. For this there are various methods that have been around for many years and in some cases even decades. But one of the methods has slowly gained popularity so much so that many people have started asking the question, what is burnishing.

Now the burnishing is basically done with machinery which is needless to say of the heavy nature. These machines which are referred to as burnishing machines are of various kinds but the basic mechanism of all of the different models is scrubbing the ground with a special disc and chemicals to revamp it entirely. These machines also come in very handy in burnishing large areas as they are easy to operate and make the job a lot easier.

Though these equipments have been around for quite a while yet it has seen many changes over the years as have all the other technological equipments and gadgets. The earliest ones were entirely operated manually and thus were very tiring and hard for the operator, often requiring more than one. But later it was re-designed and developed with a propane engine. This reduced the work load considerably and progress was faster. As a result more and more people came to know what is burnishing. But the propane model had a drawback which was exposed in the later years; it caused emissions which were hazardous to the health if they were in large amount, which generally was the case with old machines. To rectify this, the next model in the line of evolution was the natural thing to happen and it did, in came the electrical burnishing machine.

These electrical machines were easier to use and efficient as well also it was easier to handle, therefore it touched new heights of popularity and with it spread the awareness about the process as well. Many more people came to know about what is burnishing. The chord of the machine was something that was limiting the manoeuvrability of the equipment so the battery operated version of the same was introduced in the succeeding years. Along with these the chemicals and accessories also kept improving and today it is far easier and efficient than ever before.
