Decorating for the holidays can be challenging when you live in a small space. A little creativity can make your home festive.
General Home Décor
- Replace your regular towels in the kitchen and bath with Christmas towels.
- Put down Christmas accent rugs.
- Decorate with red, green, or gold pillows. Possibly include pillows with Christmas scenes on them in your living area.
- Replace some of the pictures on your wall with pictures of winter or Christmas scenes.
- Frame some Christmas card covers and display them throughout your home.
- Arrange a tabletop display with Christmas books and toys that remind you of Christmas as a child. Teddy bears, wooden toys, or a small train are a few suggestions.
- Make space for a small Christmas tree.
- If you use a small tree that packages can’t be placed under, make a decorative arrangement on a table or in a corner of the room with the packages themselves.
- Create an arrangement of fruits and nuts in a festive bowl to add Christmas touch to the kitchen or dining area.
- Add bows and small lights to houseplants. A rosemary plant or a fern work well for this idea.
- Use plants such as Amaryllis and Christmas cactus as decoration.
- Fill a glass candy jar with Christmas candy. Surround it with some greenery. Nestle a few Christmas tree balls into the greenery for an added splash of Christmas color.
