Save Water and the Environment

10 simple tips on how to save water and be environmentally friendly.
- When you’re brushing your teeth, don’t leave the tap running all the time
- Take showers rather than baths
- Sharing the shower saves water too, and it’s fun!
- Put a house-brick in your cistern. When it refills after a flush, the brick displaces some of the water.
- Throw cold tea onto the garden, the plants love it and you won’t need to use as much to water them
- Don’t use the washing machine until you have a full washing load
- Let water run into the washing up bowl rather than down the sink, it will warm up and be plenty hot enough to wash the dishes
- Get a barrel to collect rainwater for watering the garden
- Your hair only needs one wash and rinse with shampoo. Doing it twice is wasting both shampoo and water.
- Only fill the kettle with as much water as you need to make a hot drink. It saves on electricity too.

Some of these I knew already, but you listed a couple that I didn’t. Good reminders.
