Recently, one girl came to my house and asked me to contribute something for the welfare of the people living in the old age homes. She also asked me to come on weekends to spend some time with them, as these people have no one to talk.  On other day, another girl came and asked me to donate something for orphanage. After sending her, an idea clicked me. Now in this article I am going to unravel that idea.

Old people and young children both have been left stranded to feed and survive of their own by the society. Currently, some responsible citizen’s take up the responsibility to provide them shelter and came up with orphanage and old age homes. In most of the cases, they both are separate. Such a scenario has several disadvantages.

Old People:

-         They do not have anyone to talk to them.

-         They all the time remain upset as their kids left them.

-         There dream to play and spend their remaining life with their grandchildren remain unfulfilled.

-         They die of the boredom and loneliness.

-         They would always hope that someday some one would come and free them of this loneliness.

Orphan Children:

-         Most of them had never got a chance to know and experience the love of the real parents and grandparents.

-         They are more susceptible to develop negative attitude towards life.

-         They suffer from emotional and societal abuse.

These are some of the major problems, which they suffer. However, the list is endless.

Now, I thought of what would happen if old age homes and orphanages were combined. This can have a synergistic effect. Old people will get some one with whom they can play, interact, chat and love while at the same time orphan children will get a chance to experience the love and care of the parents and grandparents. In addition, Old people will no longer feel lonely, bored and will have their mind occupied with children and hence would not be thinking about their sad past and children. In addition, this can prevent the orphan children suffering from societal and emotional abuse, developing negative attitude in life and will get moral education.

This can be a win-win situation for both and it will help in the betterment of the orphan people who have been thrown away by the society.
