Color your Gray Hair For Four Cents

I recently read an article that said prematurely gray hair can be caused by poor hygiene and/or inadequate nutrition. If you think you don’t wash your hair enough, maybe you don’t. Wash it thoroughly once a day with a mild shampoo and massage the scalp deeply with your fingers as you go. Premature graying caused by poor nutrition can be reversed by taking 10 mg of pantothenic acid, 100 mg of para-aminobenzoic acid amd 2000 mg of inositol. These are B vitamins and should be supplied with a complete set of B vitamins. A litre of yogurt taken with a table spoon of yeast before each meal is a fine treatment. Bengamin Gaylorde Hauser, a world renowned nutritionist, and author of The New Diet Does It, says this treatment will restore the color of almost anybody’s gray hair. He councels the addition of iron and iodine as found in sea food. Adequate supply is also available in bananas and carrots. Of course, good nutrition will benefit anyone in many ways.

Having said that, the article then touched upon dying the hair to darken it. It recommended washing the hair with concentrated tea extract. I did not have any on hand but I did have a pitcher of black tea sitting on my kitchen counter. My curiosity, much excited by then, prompted me to rinse and work some of the tea into my mostly gray hair for two or three minutes. I dabbed away the excess moisture with a bunched towel. When air dry after an hour or less, much to my delight, my hair was once again as brown has it had been many years ago. It didn’t itch or cause discomfort of any kind. When I did it again, later, I mixed in an ounce of white vingar with the tea, having read that it is used in some clothes die systems. The color took much better and I got the vinegar odor out of my hair buy dabbing it with a wet towel after it had dried. And my scapl felt invigorated in a very pleasantn way. The tea bags cost me ninety nine cents per one hundred at the local discount grocery store. The cost of the dye job was four cents. I repeated the drenching several times over a few days with tea I had let sit out for awhile with about ten ounzes of water in it and four tea bags. It quickly turned dark. And when I shampooed my hair the color stayed in.  Cheap hair dye. It is natural and gentle low cost hair coloring system that has been used in other cultures since ancient times. It won’t harm you. Why doesn’t anybody ever tell me these things? That’s the beauty of sites like Triond!

  1. What an amazing experience. I do not have grey hair, but for those who did, how simple is this???

  2. It is very easy, KittyK, and other teas are good for other colors. Black tea is great for brown, like I use. Chamomile flowers work well for lighter color, if I remember right. Pretty sure that was the one.

  3. I’d never have thought of it.

  4. Very informative

  5. This is awesome. I’m going to give my dad the recipe.
