How to Stop Pesky House Flies in Their Tracks
Why would you not want flies in your house or on your property? Beside the fact that they are annoying, they also carry germs and help to spread diseases. So how does one get rid of them?
You can easily built a fly trap at home to solve your pesky fly problems. Follow these simple steps:
1) Get a large glass jar that has a lid, like a large pickle jar or something like it.
2) Make a few holes in the lid. They should be large enough so that flies are able to get through.
3) Fill the jar with two cups of water.
4) Add one half cup of sugar and one half cup of white vinegar to the water in the jar. Stir until the sugar has melted.
5) Now screw back the lid on the jar.
6) Place the jar where the flies hang around and voila, no more flies.
This trap seems like the safest, easiest way of dealing with a pesky house fly problem. I was not able to test the trap as I have no flies in my apartment. I almost wish I did. LOL But do let me know how it works.
Or you can buy some strips of flypaper and it catches the flies just as well.
So this is a great way to say your goodbyes to the pesky house flies!

Thanks for the idea. Flies are amazing creatures. we just don“t want them in our houses. But what helicopter can land upside down like the flies do when they land on the ceiling..!?:o)

Excellent writeup to safely dispose your flies. You exterminate them as well as feed them. Very greenish thought. “Super” man!

Great tip!
I wish I had read this months back when we bought this horrible stuff for our Guinea Pigs to ‘go’ on. It was made of old corn husks and all it did was breed a massive nest of flies in our house that took us months to get rid of.
I will definitely try this ‘if’ (and I hope not!) it happens again.

Might as well get a fish tank with some large fishes in it. The houseflies will become delicious dinner for the fish.
