The self is a multi-faceted entity, as what sociologists said. It cannot be described in one word. Your achievements, your attitudes, even your mood swing scan never represent the totality of your personality. Yes, there are different schools of thought that try to argue these things but not one of them could fully-explain themselves. Anyways, because man is a social being, that explains why he had to belong to a society, s/he has to abide with the rules of the majority. One of this is to maintain a healthy environment at home and in the surroundings and at the same time reflecting his/her personality in dealing with cleanliness. Although, there are varied personalities in the spectrum and varied concepts of cleanliness, it should still be grounded on one principle—your environment should be your ideal place where in you can fully express and explore your self.
What are the questions that you must consider in choosing your ideal environment? Try having a tour in your house for an hour, look for things and decide what you value most and what you can do even without it. Do these things just make your room in a topsy-turvy state? What things do want to place in your bedroom, kitchen or bathroom? Make sure these things maintain the flow of creative energy in your system thus also creates happiness and satisfaction the moment you went inside your house.
