From The Hearts of The Children

God tucks the greatest miracles He has into the hearts of the children. This is the true story of how a special group of children used those miracles to get a woma n out of the hospital.

Recently I had to be unexpectedly hospitalized. My platelet count dropped so low that I was dying.  I was sick and miserable and hospitals do not believe in rest.  Somebody is always doing something to you or wanting something from you or taking you somewhere or bringing you back.

I asked God for rest and He sent me a group of the most unexpectedly  beautiful miracles instead I teach a craft class for 4 to 7-year-olds on Saturdays.  I wasn’t at the class because I was in the hospital feeling sorry for myself.  And then the phone rang. On the other end of that phone were some of the most beautiful miracles God ever created.

My coworker, Patty, had told the children what happened and had them practice to talk to me on the phone. Then she called and they each had a turn.

“This is Amy. I love you.” “This is Tamara. I love you. I miss you, get well.”  “This is Jason. I love you. Come back soon.”  “This is Eric. Get better soon.  I love you.”  “This is Nicholas.  I miss you. I love you.” “This is David. Get well quick.  I miss you.  I love you” “This is Vanessa. I love you.  Get well quick.”  “This is Sebastian.  I love you. I miss you. Get well quick and come back.”  “This is Macy.  I love you. Get well” This is Reagan.  I love you and miss you. Come back soon.”

Every  voice lifted me.  Every word thrilled me. Every thought filled me with so much joy that my doctor let me go home that afternoon.  Their miracles caused me a greatly accelerated recovery. I’m writing this in the hopes that if you’re in the hospital, my children will bring you the same miracles they brought me.

God filled every piece of their hearts with simple gorgeous words.  They shared their hearts with me and this they gave me freely.  When a child shares a piece of his or her heart, it is the most beautiful thing in this world, because it is pure and it is honest.  Children share these pieces freely, because they know that it gives them as much joy as they give others.
