Water tanks are very useful as there are many benefits derived from storage of water. Plenty of water is required in our daily lives for bathing, washing and cleaning. Without water, it is very difficult to survive.

Gallons of clean water can be stored in water tanks and these water tanks have to be cleaned regularly. Otherwise, there is a scope for water contamination which leads to many skin diseases and also causes sickness. At least once in an year, water tanks have to be cleaned. First, the entire water tank has to be emptied without any water at least for a half-day. The water tank has to be washed first with bleaching powder in order to get rid of any sand or dirt that is stored at the bottom of the water tank. After cleaning it with bleaching powder, any detergent powder has to be used to wash it thoroughly clean. Use plenty of water to get rid of the dirt in the entire water tank.  After ensuring that the water tank is completely clean, take a soft cloth or a sponge and wipe it neatly and leave it to dry.

After an hour, fresh water can be  pumped into the water tank. Regular tank water that is used for bathing, toilets, washing of utensils, washing of clothes or for any other washing purpose has to be free from any bacteria. It is also important to ensure that each time the water tank is empty, fresh and clean water must be pumped in to the water tank.

Similarly, swimming pools also have to be cleaned regularly where children, men and women take swimming regularly. Children at times, swallow swimming pool water while swimming and there is every opportunity, that this water may cause diarrhea, cough or cold for children.  Every morning and evening swimming pool water must be changed or may be recycled in order to keep the swimming pool water free from any water bacteria.

Water tanks, swimming pools are very useful and these have to be maintained absolutely clean and neat, from the health point of view and also from the environment point of view.
