Clean Clothing Tips

Tidy Your Appearance in a Flash.

Time is of the essence and you are not at your best.

Keep a small roll of tape with you at all times. Clear tape, the kind you can tear easily is preferred. Wrap some around your palm or knuckles, sticky side out naturally, and run over your clothes to get off any powder, pet hair or crumbs. This technique can also be used on suede shoes, belts and bags. It works and I have carried tape around for decades, the “transparent” kind as it is easy to tear. Do not use a new roll but one that is half gone – easier to flatten and then fit in your bag.

Have a shirt button that will not obey or is just being strained a tad too much? Twist a tiny rubber band around and under the button and then button your shirt. The rubber will stick to the fabric and remain unnoticed by others. These tiny rubber bands can be purchased in office supply stores – when you pick up the tape.

Shoes looking drab – do what I have always done. If you are wearing hose/tights/stockings When no one is around (except CCTV nowadays) slip off one show and quickly buff the other shoe with your other foot. Reverse. The friction and the heat of your foot give a shine to the shoe!
