Christmas Decoration Ideas to Spice Up Christmas

Make Your Own

Get out your sewing machine and make covers for your dining table chairs.  Just make sleeves out of Christmas materials that you can pull down over the chair backs, maybe even matching covers if you have pads that tie onto the seats.

Cushion covers that you put over the existing covers will brighten up your settee but if your sewing isn’t very good you could get some festive coloured ribbon and make bows and pin them onto the cushions.  You could also pin bows to your lamp shades.

Using Colour

Red and green are the traditional Christmas colours but gold and silver make a great display.  Brighten up your plant pots by covering the pots in shiny wrapping paper. Brighten up your dining table with red and green table mats; you could attach a coloured bow to the mats as well.

Different sized boxes covered in shiny wrapping paper make a great centerpiece for your table or you could use baubles that have lost their little wire hangers; put them in a bowl or on a large glass plate with some pieces of tinsel to make a lovely shiny display.

Be Creative

You could try using your decorations in a different way, instead of putting lights round your Christmas tree, why not drape them round your fireplace and make this the centerpiece of your Christmas display instead of the tree.

Get some Christmas Garland and decorate your door and window frames and round your mirrors.  Just stick them on with sticky tape.  If you get some little bells, you could tie them to your door handles so that you get a lovely noise every time someone enters a room

Just let your imagination run away with you and look at what you have already in the house, if you look at things a little differently you’ll be able to change the way you decorate your home this Christmas.  A little lateral thinking will give you plenty of Christmas decoration ideas yourself to give your home a really chrismassy feel.
