Apartment Therapy: Does Your Home Need a Hug?
Give your place the attention it deserves. =)

About two months ago, I first learned about a website called “Apartment Therapy”. It sounded interesting, but I didn’t take the time to check it out until yesterday when coincidentally I befriended a lady, Suzanne Meyer, who I discovered has a wonderful sofa called “The Betsy Sofa” on the site in a contest for new and independent designers. They will be choosing two winners who will be awarded with $20,000’s in targeted advertisements to help further launch their careers! Please feel free to check out her piece and vote for her at: Apartment Therapy Vote for the Betsy Sofa.
It’s so interesting because I would never have become in contact with Suzanne had it not been for her friend Susan Zamboni. Susan actually found my article: Melrose Avenue: Hollywood’s Hippest Must Do Shopping Experience and contacted me because she’s a designer herself. She creates one-of-a-kind handmade handbags. Her dream is to be the next Kate Spade. You can purchase her purses at Vintage Spiderwear.
(I always say: “If you can dream it, you CAN do it!” (-Walt Disney) and she’s already sold over 300 pieces and has superstar connections in her family. Her niece is married to Aaron Lewis of Staind and I have always believed like energy attracts like energy. People who are “going” places in this world always find one another some way or another.)
I mention all this is because it’s just very interesting to me how truly connected we all are. And, it just proves to me how important it is to keep supporting the dreams and good intentions of other people. It is this that will and does lift the world to greater levels of joy and happiness.
But, on with the Apartment Therapy website…

From a simple perusal of the site, it looks like its a great resource for people who love to change up their apartments, need designing advice or help and just love to feel up to date with the latest and the greatest apartment décor. It looks like it targets some of the top cities in the United States, like New York, Los Angeles, Boston, etc. for locale specific trends and pricing. Its also current enough to include green alternatives for the socially concerned and some incredibly creative, fun ideas for those of you blessed with children. I’ve even noticed a technology section that appears to really take into account pairing style and looks with the latest and greatest in new models of your favorite gadgets.

This is really something new I learned today. For my whole life I’ve been living in rented apartments, and I’ve been always torn between the desire to decorate it as nice as I can, and the common sense that told me ‘why bother, you’re going to move anyway?’
So I’m usually somewhere in the middle, making “small changes” that can be always removed if necessary… I’ll surely check this site out. Thanks for the great post!
