12 Uses for Lemon

Who knew there could be so many uses for lemon besides cooking?
- Speed up metabolism – The acidic contents in the lemon helps aid the gastric acid to break down food particles. There’s your excuse for drink lemonade every day!
- Remove stains – Dampen a washcloth with some lemon juice and scrub away at clothes, furniture etc. Or add lemon extract to your cleaning mix to help stains vanish.
- Sore throat - Lemon works wonders for a sore throat. Merely cut a piece of lemon and extract the juices. Heat it up and add honey if desired (it also helps). Repeat every few hours or whenever needed.
- Get rid of zits – Dampen a paper towel or a washcloth with some fresh lemon juice. Rub it thoroughly all over your face and blemishes. Not for very fair skinned individuals.
- Aid sunburns – Dampen a cotton ball or a washcloth with some diluted lemon juice and rub on affected areas. The lemon juice will act as an astringent, relieving pain and treating the sunburn.
- Minor cuts – A little bit of concentrated lemon juice will help disinfect and heal minor cuts or wounds.
- Bug bites – Apply to bug bites to relieve soreness and help treat it.
- Brighten whites – Pour ¼ cup of lemon juice into the washing machine to brighten whites that aren’t allowed to be bleached.
- Lighten your hair – Comb some lemon juice evenly through your hair after you shower. Then let it dry in the sun. Repeat every day for a week. Your hair will brighten in color. This should also eliminate dandruff.
- Treat nails – Soak fingernails in lemon juice for 5 minutes. Rinse after and proceed to clean for whiter, brighter and stronger fingernails.
- Help digestion – Every morning, take 4 tablespoons (or a full lemon) of lemon juice with a teaspoon of olive oil. It will also help constipation.
- Secret Ink – Try this one out! Write with lemon juice (you can use a cotton swab for this) and hold it up to a light bulb be able to read secret messages.
